In an interview with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Robert Painter shared his thoughts on various aspects of the business after receiving the annual award for business excellence. When asked to describe his business and its customers, he said, "Our core law practice is to help people who have been seriously injured during health care."
Painter also explained that he started the firm to improve patient safety and the quality of healthcare, and its culture is defined by the mission to hold those responsible for medical malpractice financially accountable in the legal system.
As a medical malpractice law firm, Painter noted that in the current Texas tort reform environment, many attorneys have walked away from this practice area. However, Painter Law Firm has stayed committed to this area of the law, as it is a highly technical and specialized area where experience matters, and they have that experience.
Regarding the impact of COVID and a wobbly economy, Painter explained that the firm has been minimally affected as a legal profession. Despite the pandemic, the attorneys and staff continued to work and exceeded the expectations of many clients by resolving their legal matters on a faster timeline than normal, he said.
In response to the disruption caused by COVID-19, Painter Law Firm has embraced technology and offered virtual meetings, signing of paperwork, and notary services to its clients. This has provided the benefit of decreased risk of COVID-19 exposure, and many clients have also expressed their appreciation for the cost and time savings that virtual format services offer.
Regarding BBB accreditation and awards, Painter explained that they validate clients' confidence in deciding to hire the firm and underscore their commitment to exemplary customer service and ethics. The firm gave back to the community in 2021 by donating free legal services through the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.
Looking ahead, Painter expects to see a growing demand in the medical malpractice legal field as the aging population requires more healthcare. He envisions that the Painter Law Firm will continue to help those who have been affected by medical malpractice and maintain its legacy of improving patient safety and the quality of healthcare.
As the Greater Houston and South Texas Chapter of BBB celebrates its 100th centennial anniversary in 2022, the Painter Law Firm remains committed to providing excellent legal services to its clients while upholding the BBB's high standards for customer service and ethics.
